Community Support

Lakken’s Legacy was developed per Lakken’s wishes as a way to spread her joy and light to other cancer patients. After being both a pediatric and an adult cancer patient, Lakken quickly realized the lack of support services available to adult cancer patients.

During her first cancer diagnosis, Lakken was offered many opportunities made possible by some

amazing organizations and local donors. Her family enjoyed a Make-A-Wish trip to Walt Disney World,

multiple weekends at Joshua’s Camp with other families facing pediatric cancer journeys,

VIP tickets to Country Jam, a weekend stay at a cabin in Madeline Island, and many other priceless

memories thanks to the generosity of others. While Lakken always deeply appreciated these experiences,

she wanted to be a part of the change that brings these adventures to adults facing cancer diagnoses

to help them “live each day as if it’s their last.”
